About the Role
The Protocol Backend Engineer will build the backend architecture that connects VistralNova's game systems with crypto networks, smart contracts, digital assets, and player-facing applications. This role focuses on APIs, microservices, indexing, transaction handling, wallet-connected workflows, and real-time platform services. You will help create the bridge between traditional game infrastructure and decentralized systems. This means building reliable backend services that can support gameplay, asset ownership, on-chain events, user accounts, rewards, and marketplace features without making the user experience feel slow or complicated.
What You'll Do
- Build backend services and APIs that connect game servers with crypto networks.
- Develop microservices for users, assets, races, rewards, marketplace activity, and transaction history.
- Integrate smart contracts, on-chain events, wallet flows, and digital asset data.
- Design reliable systems for indexing, syncing, and processing on-chain data.
- Work with frontend and game teams to deliver smooth wallet-connected user experiences.
- Improve backend performance, security, scalability, and observability.
- Support deployment, monitoring, debugging, and production issue resolution.
What We Look For
- Strong backend development experience with production systems.
- Experience building APIs, microservices, or event-driven backend architecture.
- Understanding of on-chain transactions, wallets, smart contracts, and on-chain data.
- Ability to design scalable and secure backend services.
- Experience with databases, queues, caching, and system integration.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving ability.
- Clear communication across engineering, frontend, game, and product teams.
Nice to Have
- Experience with digital asset systems, NFT systems, marketplaces, or reward platforms.
- Familiarity with Rust, Go, Node.js, Python, or similar backend technologies.
- Experience with on-chain indexing, RPC providers, event listeners, or wallet infrastructure.
- Experience working with cloud infrastructure and distributed systems.
